About CPT Trainer
What is CPT Trainer?
A study app for the ISSA Certified Personal Trainer course. It drills every term the course defines, 602 in all, with 730 scenario questions, flashcards and pictures, and brings back what you miss until it sticks.
Is CPT Trainer made by ISSA, or connected to it?
No. CPT Trainer is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ISSA or NCCPT. ISSA is a trademark of its owner.
Who makes it?
Ben Tibbs, a student in the course, built it to study for the same exam you are taking.
Will it match my course?
It follows the course as 10 modules and 50 lessons. If your course is organized as textbook chapters instead, the lessons will not line up with yours, though the vocabulary is the same subject.
Does it include the course or the textbook?
No. You still need ISSA's course. CPT Trainer drills the vocabulary and how it applies to real clients.
Does it have the final exam answers?
No. It has no exam answers and no exam questions. It teaches the terms and how they apply, so the exam is yours to answer.
Passes and payment
What does it cost?
$49 for 3 months of access or $29 for 1 month. One payment. No subscription, nothing renews.
Does a pass renew?
No. One payment. No subscription, nothing renews. Buying another pass adds its months to the end of the access you have.
Can I get a refund?
Full refund on request within 7 days. The details are in the terms.
I have a promotion code. Where does it go?
Have a promotion code? Enter it at checkout. Choose the 3-month pass: the code goes on its Stripe checkout page, and it makes that pass free. The 1-month pass doesn't take promotion codes.
Using it
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes, two ways. The 10 free practice questions need no account, and each module page has three more. And when you sign in with Google, the app itself is free for all of Module 1, with no card: the same rounds, review schedule and progress you get with a pass. A pass opens the other modules, and your Module 1 progress carries over.
Do I need an account?
For the app, yes: you sign in with Google, which is how your access and your progress follow you between devices. No password to remember.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on phones and laptops, and it is designed for a phone first.
What happens to my progress when my access ends?
Your progress stays saved in your account and in your browser, and you can export it any time from Settings. The app goes back to the free Module 1 until you buy another pass; then every module opens again where you left off.
What do you store about me?
Your Google email, name and profile picture link to sign you in, your progress and exam plan, your access dates and your purchase records. The pages and the app count visits and use with Google Analytics, which stays off if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, or if you turn it off in Settings. When something breaks, the app sends an error report to Sentry, without your email or answers. No ads, and nothing is sold. The privacy policy has every detail.
