Module 10 quiz: 3 free questions

Answer these first, then read what the module covers. No sign-up.

  1. Question 1 of 3

A client keeps skipping her Thursday sessions. The coach sets up an automatic text reminder the night before, a shared log she fills in after each workout, and a five-minute call every Sunday where she reports whether she did what she said she would. What practice is the coach building?

    1. Reinforcement
    2. Accountability
    3. Empowerment
    4. Personalization
    Show the answer

Answer: Accountability. Holding a client responsible for what she committed to, backed by reminders, tracking and regular check-ins, is accountability. Empowerment is the tempting answer, but it builds her sense of choice and ownership rather than having her report back to someone.

  2. Question 2 of 3

After a year of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. days with no time off, a trainer feels drained before sessions start, has stopped caring about her clients’ progress and is making more mistakes in her programs. What is she experiencing?

    1. Burnout
    2. Career Longevity
    3. Recovery and Boundaries
    4. Stress Management
    Show the answer

Answer: Burnout. Emotional, physical and mental exhaustion from long, unrelenting stress, with lost motivation and slipping performance, is burnout. Recovery and boundaries is the tempting answer, but that is the fix (sane hours, breaks, limits), not the state she is in.

  3. Question 3 of 3

A coach in Denver takes on a client in Singapore. They never meet face to face: every session plan, form check and conversation happens over video calls and an app. Which delivery model is this?

    1. Hybrid Training
    2. Personal Training
    3. Online Training
    4. Group Exercise
    Show the answer

Answer: Online Training. Coaching delivered entirely through digital platforms with no in-person contact is online training. Hybrid training is the tempting answer, but it blends in-person sessions with digital support; this pair never meets.

What this module is about

Module 10 looks past the exam to the working life of a trainer. It covers the technology that now sits inside most programs, the shift toward coaching people online, and what it takes to stay good at the job and stay in it for years.

The technology lessons are practical: how to use the data from a client's watch or app without drowning in it, and how to keep a remote client accountable when you never share a gym floor. The career lessons cover continuing education, the people who can help you grow, and the habits that keep a demanding, early-morning, late-evening job from wearing you out.

The module closes the course with a review, so it is also a good moment to sweep back through the earlier modules. Scenario questions here are short stories about a trainer's choices: a tool picked for a client, a step taken to grow, or a warning sign of burnout.

The five lessons

  1. Wearables & apps. Using trackers, smartwatches and apps in a client's program, and turning their numbers into better coaching.
  2. Online coaching. Coaching clients you rarely or never see in person, and mixing online and in-person work.
  3. Continuing education. Keeping your knowledge current after certification through courses, research and workshops.
  4. Career longevity. Building a career that lasts: mentors, contacts, new skills and protecting yourself from burning out.
  5. Course wrap-up. A look back over the whole course and how to put it to work with your first clients.
